As a child, my mother was helped immensely with migraine headaches, neck and back pain by her chiropractor. I was so impressed with this that I decided to pursue a chiropractic career as a 9th grader. I am a 1988 graduate of Western States Chiropractic College. I obtained a Licensed Massage Therapist status while attending Chiropractic College, and was able to supplement my hands on experience by working with athletes and other patients for years prior to graduating as a chiropractor.
From 1988 through 1992, I worked as an associate doctor at Robinson Chiropractic Clinic in Molalla, OR, where in addition to standard treatment, I was able to run a rehab center for injury recovery. I enjoy treating all kinds of conditions involving the muscles, bones, joints, and nerves. Patients often comment on the thoroughness of my care. A careful look at the musculoskeletal system from the feet to the head is a must when treating many cases. I give credit to the Lord Jesus Christ for the gifts He has given me in being compassionate and skilled in using my hands to assist in patient's recovery. |

I was born and raised in West Linn and am the 3rd generation in my family to graduate from West Linn High School.
I've been a chiropractic patient myself since a serious snowboard accident in 2000 left me with agonizing back pain. Immediate chiropractic care following the accident and regular adjustments since have been integral to my recovery. This regular care has also given me unique insight into the patient perspective, allowing me to personally relate to and understand my patients. Additionally, mentorship by my friend Dr. Jeff McNown helped my discover my calling to be a chiropractor. With a deep desire to help people and a fascination of how the body works, I attended both Cleveland Chiropractic College and the University of Southern California Health Sciences in Los Angeles where I graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees. During my schooling and in the 2 years of private-practice that followed in L.A., I developed a sports medicine focus with an additional certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist as well as work with collegiate and CrossFit athletes in the clinical and competition arenas. I always try to "see in my mind" what happened with any given patient's injury, be-it sports injury, car accident, slip-and-fall, etc., so I can better understand the injury, how I can help that person recover, and what we can do to prevent re-injury. Feeling the call to return home, I moved back to the great Pacific Northwest in August 2015 and joined the Hartwell Chiropractic team where I feel I belong. I now call Canby my home and will take any chance I get to be outside doing CrossFit, Spartan races, mountain biking, snowboarding, waterskiing, and backpacking. |

As a child, gymnastics was my passion; little did I know that that passion would create an injury which would lead me to my future career years later. When I was 8 years old I saw a chiropractor for the first time. It was fascinating to me how I could walk out of an appointment and instantly feel better, my ailment cured. That same chiropractor helped me through my years of gymnastics injuries, cheerleading falls, and ultimately kept me feeling my best at all times. Twelve years later, I was in college majoring in BioHealth Sciences and was a little conflicted on what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I always knew I had a passion for the medical field and had a calling to help people. On a whim, I decided to go shadow my chiropractor. After my first day, that same feeling from when I was 8 years old came rushing back; I was still amazed at the healing power just one session held for any patient. I wanted to be able to provide this instant relief to patients and to help them to live a healthy lifestyle, and so began my journey to becoming a chiropractor.
Growing up, I called Kennewick, Washington home, but Oregon stole my heart about 7 years ago when I made the decision to go to Oregon State University. Following my time at OSU, I attended the University of Western States where I obtained my Bachelors in Human Biology and my Doctor of Chiropractic. During my time at the University of Western States I completed my preceptorship at Hartwell Chiropractic. This clinic instantly felt like home, and my time here so far has allowed me to greatly expand my knowledge of chiropractic medicine and also sparked a passion for nutrition and rehab under a wonderful mentor who has practiced for 30 years. In my free time you will usually find me outside with my horses or lab puppy, hiking or doing cross fit. I look forward to helping you heal and live a healthy, active, and pain-free lifestyle! |
